Morgan Slade Photography » Every Family Has a Story

  • WELCOME!

I'm so glad you stopped by! I am a wife, mother of two, and a lover of stories. My philosophy stems from my love of writing and journalism. I truly believe that every family has a story and it is my goal to help you record your unique story through imagery. Please feel free to look around and contact me with any questions!

Some of us are lucky enough to cross paths with people that end up being key characters in our lives.. people you share trials, troubles and joys with. The kind of people that you designate the label of “family,” to. These people pictured here all belong in such a category. If you thought for a moment this was my own family session because a certain tall brunette shares a few physical (and more than a few character) traits with me, you certainly wouldn’t be the first. These gorgeous fox (now I feel like I’m gloating) is often mistaken for my sister.. and I don’t mind one bit. I miss these faces and these mountains. Enjoy the Durfee family.

I’m so excited to offer mini sessions for the Monterey Bay Area!
Upon my arrival I really considered the next steps I wanted to take concerning my business and it’s focus. I’ve enjoyed so much success thanks to my amazing clients that have supported me and really carried me on my journey. I’ve decided that, while here, I am going to focus primarily on photographing my own family and our experiences during this time as well as put my camera down and live in moments with the people I love most. That being said, I’M NOT QUITTING! I am simply managing my time differently. Aside from these mini sessions my session availability will be extremely limited (please feel free to inquire about open full session dates). I will be taking a winter break beginning on November 10-February 1st.

Here’s what I hope people understand about the essence and concept of “the family.” Family doesn’t mean you have children, family status is not determined by how many members are present. Family is beautifully and simply a term that encompasses those we love and invite to share our journey with. I hope with conviction that couples refer to themselves as a family- they are the very foundation for any future addition to their unit. So without any further soapbox presentation- meet one of my very favorite families. A boy with a mullet, his beautiful wife of one year, and their precious pup. I love this session because not only is this family part of my family but we also got to enjoy some nostaligic settings of mine. I played in this river, and walked through these fields. Sometimes the country girl part of my soul misses “home.” Here’s to family, memories, and home.

I had the best summer with the best people. Moving out of state was wild but somehow in the middle of trying to sell our house (three times) working ALOT and balancing the schedules of four other humans I still managed to spend ample time in the mountains that I so love with people who are just as warm as they are beautiful. The Call family has got to be one of my favorite sessions. The light, the laughs, and the way they all intereacted with one another made for great memories captured.

Probably the BEST tip that I have ever received came in the form of a coloring page on my window from the cutest and spunkiest little girl pictured below. The best part about these guys is that they are part of my family. They are beautiful, kind, and they undoubtedly know how to have a good time. I love these images almost as much as I love the people in them. Enjoy the Allen family.
